Switching or replacing your EPOS system

Guides for the moment the old till starts costing more than it saves: the signs, what moves across, how long it takes and how to run the switch without losing a service.

Short answer

Switching EPOS takes a menu, a date and a few hours of training. Your customer database transfers; historic sales data does not, so export your old reports first. Posso builds the menu as part of free setup and ships the hardware preconfigured. Systems are preconfigured and shipped plug-and-play. If you are mid-contract elsewhere, check the notice period and time the switch around it.

This is one part of the Posso EPOS system — the same till, kitchen display, ordering and card payments, set up for your type of venue. Every one-off and monthly cost is on the EPOS pricing page.

Switching — frequently asked questions

What transfers when I switch EPOS system?

Your menu is rebuilt on the new system as part of setup, and your customer database can be imported. Historic sales reports stay on the old system, so download the ones you want to keep before it is switched off.

How long does it take to switch to Posso?

Systems are preconfigured and shipped plug-and-play. The menu build happens before shipping, and staff training is included.

Can I keep my existing card machine?

If it is a Teya or Dojo terminal, yes, Posso integrates with it. Other terminals can be kept as standalone machines until their contract ends, then replaced with Posso Pay.
